They don't care about us (from the music video)

Good morning Michael, I hope you are doing well, you have just released your new single 'they don't care about us', how do you feel about the song?

Good morning, and yes, I have just released my new single, I feel really good about the song I think it holds a lot of meaning about political and civil disobedience and ties very well with human rights.

And how did you express these issues and meanings throughout your song?

I myself am not a racist, I have many friends from many different ethnicities. However; The first line of the song "skin-head dead head" refers to the 'skinheads' which were individuals part of an anti-hippie movement in the 60's and 70's following a movement against racism.  And some people were very violent racists that influenced others around them.

Wow, I see there are several meanings in these  words such as the example you just gave us, and how does 'they don't care about us' relate to the media since there was a line saying "in the suit, on the news, everybody dog food"

yes, those lyrics were specific to the allegations that were thrown against me in the media, through propaganda streams and how individuals are given the choices as to whether they would like to believe these allegations or not.  I put in the words dog food so that I could reference how the media has very poor journalism with a bunch of incorrect facts thrown together in order to make an "interesting story" which is the reason why I used it to symbolize poor quality food. but there was also a deeper meaning behind the 'dog food' because I feel as though we are all as citizen dog food to the government and the higher class, which gives them authority over what we can and can't do as a society.

Yes, I understand I have seen many rumors being thrown about in the media about the controversy of your lyrics. But the main reason it the chorus, what are you exactly trying to portray in the chorus, and you are you sending it too. and what is the significance of the setting you have chosen?

Yes, so during the music video I was filmed in an impoverished and slum area that is located in the favela of Brazil, and I wanted to relate to the first world not giving much support and interest to 3rd world countries who are suffering from many issues that are ethnic as well as social. Furthermore, I also refer to the corruption that his held by the U.S government and higher associations, and how they treat the black community as well as the Hispanic society, furthermore the discrimination of religion. as well as the lack of care in the ghetto and dangerous areas with high crime rates as well as poor cities, located within the country.

wow, the deep meaning behind the lyrics is astonishing, and the question that has been repeating in our minds is what do you mean when you say "kick me, kike me, don't you black or white me" as there has been a lot of controversy regarding it.

Yes, I have heard the conservatory that has been going around regarding the subject of what these lyrics mean. When I referred to "kick me kick me" I did not mean to be an antisemitic remark. In reality, I was speaking in the point of view of all other impoverished ethnic groups and importantly people who have been persecuted because of the race. and in the previous line, I said "jew me" which refers to the labels which people put on other due to the media, and what is trying to be said to the people is that people can label me and other people in the minorities and that I myself will speak for them in order for the people to start respecting and supporting those social minorities. And when I state "don't you black or white me" is referring to the way people label each due to the influence of the media and how he and others of his ethnicity is portrayed and I myself see labeling as in issue that is being widely contagious to people and giving them an automatic 'label 'for each person.

Thank you very much, I feel like I and the viewers have learned a lot from the meaning behind your lyrics in the song "they don't care about us" and this was very meaningful in clearing the controversy in some parts of the lyrics

Thank you for having me.
