Tupac grew up in a ghetto environment, where crime rates are high and the environment is poor, his lyrics in the song "my block" clearly reflects some of the experience that he encountered during his life. Furthermore, in his song, he represents his rough and aggressive emotions about his younger self and younger experiences. In the first few lines of his first verse he mentions "sh**ts scary, our black on black crime is legendary but at times unnecessary, I'm getting worried", this shows in multiple experiences of black to black crime he experienced due to his own actions and the actions of others that was done for no good reason making him worried about his own life by being a black person in such a dangerous and risky environment. he follows up by saying "teardrops and closed caskets" where he starts to remember all the funerals he attended of people in his community and the dull times where he views his loved ones, friends and the people of his...
