Biography


My name is Sarah Alameri and this is my Language and literature blog! I am from the UAE and currently in the eleventh grade and study at Raha international school. I am a very adventures person and love exploring new ideas and places, moreover I enjoy being active and understanding different cultures, ethics and landmarks,  I have several interests that include, playing karate, singing as well as watching tv shows, and they are typically what I do in my free time. In my perspective language is very important in understanding the world and how we are able to communicate. I am bilingual and speak; english and arabic. Language plays a big role in my life as how especially when communicating with my friends and family, I find it astonishing how much these 2 languages come together and have some similarities and differences. In addition, language allows people all over the world to communicate and share ideas in a different and unique ways. Furthermore, language allows us to show appreciation in other peoples thoughts and opinions while allowing us to understand how the perspective of others can be very different or very similar to our own. Through my life experience I have faced language barriers, as in example when i traveled to china where the majority of the population only speak Chinese (or mandarin) it was very hard to communicate with different  as well as the natives when asking for directions.

Furthermore, in his song, he represents his rough and aggressive emotions about his younger self and younger experiences. Me talk pretty one day- Tone and mood paragraph.

TONE AND MOOD - ME TALK PRETTY ONE DAY The author of "me talk pretty one day" coveys a humorous tone by sharing and exposing his feelings also by being self-deprecating, this is depicted when he states "They were all you, attractive and well dressed, causing me to feel not unlike Pa kettle trapped backstage after a fashion show." The author presents his teacher as being very strict and cruel towards not only him but his peers as well, which sets out a very fearful tone in some areas of the text. The teacher is directly shown to be cruel when The author starts to write about her backslash at every person responds to the question asked by her. Furthermore, The author uses hyperbole to further describe the teacher, for example, Sedaris   states " her teeth are the size of tombstones." The author uses these literary techniques to show his tone and attitude that is depicted by his teacher; this includes a fearful, timid and nervous attitude.
